Theresa and Alice –

Please pass on my sincere thank you to all of the CPAAS volunteers that helped out with our Silver Games!

Thank You. Two simple words, but 3 big days! Silver Games was a huge success! 136 participants, 27 different events, 40 bus runs, 105 Medals, 77 spaghetti dinners, countless volunteers and staff members and hundreds of registrations/questions later we are done.

Thank you for making this year’s events the best yet!

Weather you helped set out the rooms, took registrations, bought supplies, prepared the food, run the events, drove the buses, escorted the residents or cheered participants! You have made a huge impact!

No words can express how grateful all of your efforts were, but thank you!

See you next year for our 5th Annual Silver Games: September 12, 2012 – September 14, 2012

Wed. Sept. 28, 630 pm SPD - John Mydlach Dedication at CPA FALL

Dear Friends-

I have heartwarming news to share with you regarding our recently passed and dear friend, John Mydlach.

On Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 630 pm, it would be a great honor to have all the CPAAAS members attend the "Honoring of the late John Mydlach" by the Schaumburg Police Department and CPAAAS, for his selfless dedication to not only the Schaumburg Police Department, but the Schaumburg Township, and CPAAAS.

The CPAAAS Board and the Schaumburg Police Department received additional approval from the CPAAAS membershipThursday evening at our General Meeting, to bestow upon John the "2011 Honorary Volunteer of the Year Award".  This award is separate from our annual membership Award nominations which will take place in December, and be awarded in the Spring of 2012.

This celebration will begin with the Mydlach Family in the Classroom at the SPD, beginning promptly at 630 pm at the start of the 2011 CPA Fall Class.

There will be a small reception in the Community room immediately following the honor at approximately 645 pm for the Mydlach Family, CPAAAS members, and all members of the SPD who would like to join.

What an inspirational way to kick off the 15th Year of CPA!

Kindest personal regards,

Holiday Community Programs for CPAAAS Support consideration

Dear Alumni-

I hope this finds you well

It is that time of year and the Holiday opportunities for us to support are coming in.

Please consider what you would personally like to support during the upcoming holiday season as our Food drive to support the Township, and "Adopt a Family" programs are forthcoming.

Additionally, we encourage programs to come forth that are supportive of our mission. Visiting our website to understand where any program falls is also good to do prior to the meeting, so we may act swiftly and decisively as the holidays will be here before we know it.

If there are any potential programs to consider that we can support in the Police Department honor or even Canine Unit, please gather your information and bring it to the next meeting.

Please also remember, some employers do a "match" donation and because we are a registered non-profit organization, we may meet most employers criteria for that match and can provide you with the proper documentation to receive an additional donation from your employer to support our programs.  (Many thanks to Kevin Snow our Treasurer for this!)  :)

My employer only does the "match" at a quarterly distribution, so if this interests you, please check with your Human Resources or Company intranet for more information.

Finally, I will be circling back with Sgt. Nebl to see if there are any Police Department programs on the calendar we can look to support as we historically have.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and we hope to make this year a very generous and thoughtful holiday season for CPAAAS and our community.

Kind regards,

Theresa Plazewski
