CPAAAS Sponsors Village Seniors for SPD Care Trak Transmitter

Alumni-

Late last month, the CPAAAS Board of Directors were respectfully requested by the SPD, to sponsor Village of Schaumburg senior citizens on a fixed income for a SPD Program.  The Program is called  the Care Trak Transmitter, and is available to those in need due to various health reasons.

Diagnosed with advanced Alzheimers, one of the seniors in this couple cannot be left alone.

Obtaining a Care Trak bracelet for his wife to aid us in finding her should she wander off due to her disease, was a great decision for CPAAAS to sponsor the couple who is on a fixed (social security) income and would have great difficulty paying the dollars for the transmitter.

Because this request completely met all of the Angel Fund criteria for support, CPAAAS and the Angel Fund sponsored the Village Seniors with a check for $246.00 to Care Trak to cover the transmitter usage.

Here again, are our Angel Fund dollars being reinvested in our community!

All the best-

ICPA Awards CPAAAS "2011 Organization of the Year Award"

UPDATED

Dear Friends-

On Thursday, December 1, 2011, SPD Chief Brian Howerton, Sgt. John Nebl, CPAAAS Board Member Tom Conaway, CPAAAS Alumni Saba Rizvi, CPAAAS special guest Katie Berganske and I, were seated amongst the most generous law enforcement representatives in this great State of Illinois.

I can only express to you, how humbling it was to sit amongst these remarkable professionals whose generosity to their community equates only to the devotion they clearly have to their profession.  We also learned that our category hosted a wealth of talent representing our State in a way that we are all so proud!

Over the past 3 years, it is the over 2500 volunteer hours of our selfless, active Alumni that brought this special recognition our way.

On behalf of CPAAAS, I was deeply honored to accept your ICPA Award for "2011 Organization of the Year" and we express our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Dale Arentsen, President of the Illinois Crime Prevention Association for this invigorating news and for welcoming CPAAAS into the ICPA family.

Dec. 7- CPA Graduation / CPAAAS Donation to Chicagoland Dog Rescue honoring Canine Officers/Alumni

Dear Friends-

I hope this finds you well.

This Wednesday at 6:30 pm, our SPD will graduate the 30th CPA Class - the Fall Class of 2011.   Even more exciting is at Graduation, Canine Office Majic will be in attendance and all CPAAAS Alumni are invited!

Due to this amazing coincidence, CPAAAS has coordinated the final 2011 Annual Angel Fund Donation to the Community - to our new friends at the Chicagoland Dog Rescue (CDR).

Because the night of Graduation will host Canine Officer Majic, our new Graduates, and our CPAAAS Alumni, the Board believed this evening would be the ideal catalyst for creating visibility and strength for our new partnership with the Chicagoland Dog Rescue in honor of our remarkable Canine Officers and the recently passed Alumni who loved them - Jim Townsend.

As we celebrate the evening and welcome 2012 with the CDR, any thoughtful donations brought the night of graduation for the dogs that are rescued are most appreciated!

Below is a sample of what are appreciated items for care directly for the rescued dogs:
Wish List Items for Chicagoland Dog Rescue:

TEAM "Adopt A Family" in HIGH GEAR for the Holidays!

Our Powerhouse Pat Z and Team "Adopt a Family 2011," have been out shopping for wonderful Christmas gifts for our CPAAAS "Adopted Township Families."

They will host the WRAP PARTY on Dec. 4 at the SPD from 2-4 in the Community Room.  We are hoping for some festive music and refreshments and if everyone has been on the NICE list, maybe SANTA will stop by!  :)

The teams consist of about 20 of our Alumni who have generously made personal donatations to this cause and we are so, so proud of everyone for continuing this annual benefit to our Schaumburg Township relief.

Many thanks to Pat Z for all her hard work in coordinating the teams and working with the Township.

See you then!

That's a WRAP!  :)

A Hero Among Us...

Lieutenant John Schneidwind, our SFD CPR Trainer known to many of us as "Jack", received recognition this week from the Rotary Club, for his selfless efforts when he traveled to Ground Zero to provide manpower to the FDNY in the days that immediatley followed September 11, 2001.

He was one of the Schaumburg Firefighters who gathered their equipment up and just went.......

We are extremely proud to call Lt. John Schneidwind one of OUR Village's own Firefighters, and are so  thrilled to have him as our guest speaker in the late Spring/early Summer of 2012!

Congratulations Jack on your recognition!

See you soon-
