Hello to all our members, hope you are getting through this rough winter without much difficulty.

This note is just to remind everyone about a couple of things that we have coming up in the next few weeks.

The Chicagoland Kids Expo is this weekend. We have 12 volunteers signed for Saturday and 12 volunteers signed for Sunday. If anyone else wants to help out please let us know, we are glad to have you come and join us. Please remember to wear your CPAAAS shirt and ID. If you don't have a CPAAAS shirt yet please wear a plain white shirt.

Monday March 10, 2014, we are holding a brief meeting at 6:30 PM to discuss nominations for VP and Corresponding Secretary. We have 20 people signed up to tour the NW Dispatch Center. We are almost at capacity but if anyone else would like to join us please let me know as soon as possible. We will be departing the Police Station at 7:00 PM.

Wednesday March 19, 2014 is the first night of the spring CPA class. Please plan on attending the first night to greet the new member of the class and support CPAAAS.

We are signed up to attend the School District 54 Child Expo at the Sports complex in Schaumburg on Friday April 11, 2014 from 8:30 to 12:00 noon. We still need about 4 more volunteers for this event, so let us know if you can come out and help.

We will send out the agenda and the meeting minutes later in the week.

See you this weekend and on Monday.

Thank you for your continued support.

Important Notice To All Members

Our next schedule meeting is Monday March 10, 2014. As we mentioned at the February meeting we will be going to the NW Dispatch Center for a tour.

We have about 10 openings remaining for the tour so if anyone who has not already signed up and would like to go please let us know as soon as possible. We will be departing at 7:00 PM sharp.

It was the boards  intention to forgo the actual March meeting due to the tour, however.................There are a few things that we need to discuss with membership so the board has decided that it is important that we hold a very brief meeting starting at 6:30 PM.

We hope that you all will be able to attend, on Monday March 10, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the Police station in the Community Room.

The agenda will be short and sweet. We will be to accepting nominations for the position of Vice President and Corresponding Secretary, both positions are up for election April 1, 2014.

Both Christine and John are doing a tremendous job in their respective positions and it is my hope that they will once again seek these positions in April.

Both the position of VP and Corresponding Secretary were interim positions that were filled by both John and Christine in April of 2013. Our Bylaws are very specific in so much as that we now need to elect officers for a two year term for both these positions in an even number year.

As most of you know, our organization has changed over the last two years; the requirements for being an officer have evolved as well.

In addition to attending the meetings on a regular basis, it is expected that officers volunteer for events as needed. Both positions require being able to use Microsoft Office, Word and Excel Spreadsheets as well as the ability to format correspondence as needed and help with the Web content, so please bear this in mind when nominating someone to either position.

Also, we will be looking for nominations for Volunteer of the Year. We will be sending out a list of all the members who volunteered at events in 2013 to help you decide who is worthy of this coveted award.

One last thing if you have not paid your annual $10 dues please do so as soon as possible, only members who have paid their annual dues are eligible to vote in elections.

We will accept nominations on March 10, and up to the evening of the April meeting.

Volunteers Needed - Thank You

Alumni Members,

Last week I put a call out for volunteers needed for the Business open house that is being held at the Schaumburg Police Station this week on Thursday 2/13/14.

There was an overwhelming response to this request. So many in fact that I am sending this thank you out to everyone so as not to miss any of you that graciously offered to help out.

So as to be far we took the first 6 people who responded so we should be well covered for this event. Once again thank you to all of you for your quick response I know we will be well represented this Thursday.

See you all Monday night (2/10) and please stay warm.
