Schaumburg Fire Department Open House – September 12, 2009
On September 12, 2009, the Schaumburg Fire Department on Schaumburg Road held an Open House. Our CPAAAS volunteers assisted the SPD at their table with the finger printing program for children. The SFD held two demonstrations in the parking lot. One was of a garbage can that started on fire where the contents of the small room went up in flames under two minutes before the fire fighters put it out. The other demonstration was of the same scenario; however, there were overhead sprinklers that put the flames out within seconds with minimal damage to the contents of the room. The crowd was amazed and cheered the fire fighters. See pictures of the event!
