ILEETA CONFERENCE APRIL 2009
The ILEETA Conference was held at the Westin Chicago North Shore in Wheeling on April 20 through April 25. Volunteers from Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Niles, Wheeling and Buffalo Grove assisted with various chores. Monday we assembled welcome kits, and unpacked shirts and other items to go with the welcome kits to be sold during the week. Tuesday assistance consisted of helping with registration, passing out welcome kits, selling items (coats were very popular with attendees from warmer climates) and helping with the Expo. The Expo area had various venders with products and services that relate to law enforcement. Wednesday assistance continued with the Expo and late registration and various help where needed. Wednesday evening had the world’s famous Cop Donut Eating Contest. Thursday and Friday help was needed on several small projects.
ILEETA is a very interesting and fun experience for all the volunteers. It gives the volunteers a chance to meet law enforcement people from many different states and countries.
Our Schaumburg CPAAAS members put in a total of 97 volunteer hours at the event.
