LATE SEPT. CPAAAS NEWS

Greetings CPAAAS Members:

•The gift wrap party in December will be on Sunday, December 16th.

Please reserve some time on your calendar for wrapping presents for needy individuals and families.

-Fuddruckers on October 2nd at 6:15 p.m.

•The Open Board Meeting will be on Monday, October 8th at 7 p.m.

•Please mark your calendars to show that we will have Judge John Tourtelot as our featured guest speaker in October.

CPAAAS General Meeting, Thursday, October 25thrd at 7 p.m.

Judge Tourtelot is presently assigned to the Fourth Municipal District Court in Maywood, Illinois.

He has as extensive background in law enforcement.

-Cook County Correctional Officer 1970

-Police officer for 21 years

-Field Training Supervisor

-Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney

-Village and City Prosecutor (Schaumburg and Prospect Heights)

-Assistant Illinois Attorney General

-Faculty member-Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education

-Taught at Harper College and Lewis University

-Presently on the faculty of Kaplan University

-Lectured at John Marshall law School

-Cook County Circuit Court Judge, 1995-present (narcotics court, night bond court, prostitution court, domestic violence court,felony Court, misdemeanor court and traffic court)

Judge Tourtelot has a B.A. Degree in English from the University of Illinois, Chicago 1972 and a Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law.

He is a certified mediator and is death penalty qualified.

Judge Tourtelot is on the Board of Directors at Rush Oak Park Hospital, West Suburban Bar Association and is chairman of the Associate Judges Association.

He is a member of the Illinois Judges’ Association, and the Northwest Suburban Bar Association,

Judge Tourtelot served as an Army First lieutenant for three and a half years in Vietnam and is a member of the VFW and Disabled American Veterans.

 The Fall 2007 CPA will begin on Wed. Sept. 26, 2007
