General Meeting – 10 / 28 / 2004

We will be discussing the upcoming holiday seasonal events: Thanksgiving Food Baskets, Shop with a Cop, Adopt A Family Christmas and our annual Wrap Party. We will be collecting food gift certificate for the Thanksgiving Food Baskets at this meeting. Also, we will be taking up a collection to purchase them.

Also, if you would like to make a food donation to the Pantry they are in need of cereal, peanut butter & jelly, spaghetti sauce, rice, canned pastas and tuna. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.

General Meeting – 08 / 26 / 2004

 

Detective Chris Nowicki was the guest speaker. Det. Nowicki conducts financial / ID Theft investigations and spoke about those topics and how we canprotect ourselves from these types of crimes. This continues to be a growing problem and can seriously impact our lives. There are new methods of protection coming up all the time as these criminals continue to perfect their methods. Chris will cover financial/identity theft investigations, how the cases are prosecuted, difficulty in prosecution, evidentiary concerns. He devoted a significant block of time to identity theft prevention and ways to safeguard your personal information. This included steps to take for consumers once they become a victim and steps needed to clear their name. He also talked about several other "scams" which are popular today and to be on the lookout for, including the exploitation of the elderly

Wednesday, May 26, 2004 – Spring 2004 CPA Graduation.  All CPAAAS members are invited to graduation to assist and to congratulate the graduates and welcome them to CPAAAS.  Please remember to wear your CPAAAS shirt and be at the police station by 6:15 PM

June 24,25,26 – Miss Illinois Pageant to be held at Schaumburg High School.  Volunteers are still needed.

Saturday, July 17 at 3:00pm – Annual Pool Party at Tom & Laurie Kaczmarek’s house.

Saturday, July 24th – Flyer’s Baseball Game.  Tickets are $8.00 for paid members and $9.00 for non-paid members

A Big Round of Applause to:

Patty Pesch & Carla Eugling for volunteering at Carson’s Kids Day on March 27.  They spent three hours taking turns playing “McGruff”, and meeting the kids.

General Meeting – 03 / 25 / 2004

Our next general meeting was March 25, 2004 at 7pm in the Schaumburg Police Department classroom.

Some updates to the calendar. Always check the online calendar for the most current information:

There is a MAJOR conflict with the date of our next General Meeting which is also Election Night. As a result, the CPAAAS next General Meeting is Thursday May 6,2004 at 7:00pm at the Police Department. Elections will be held that night (5/6/04). As a result of this date change, there will be NO open board meeting on Monday, May 10th.

Clare Selke, the wife of Schaumburg High School Athletic Director (and friend of CPAAAS) John Selke lost her battle with cancer. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, April 3 at 11:00 am at Church of the Holy Spirit (1451 Bode Road, Schaumburg)

Saturday, April 24th is the annual Village clean up day. Pauline Willis is collecting names of CPAAAS members who are willing to spend a Saturday morning helping to “spruce up” the village.

The annual memorial Mass for the Schaumburg Police Department will be on Friday, May 14th at 7:00pm at Prince of Peace Church. Rev Eaton will be conducting the memorial service.

Our general meeting was January 22, 2004 at 7pm in the Schaumburg Police Department classroom.

Our speaker, Mr. Santercier, is a retired Illinois Police State Trooper and has worked in the gangs crime unit. His talk was on his experiences with this unit and his current employment.
