Carson's Community Day and SPD Open House (posted 3/6/2002)

The third annual Schaumburg Police Department Open House took place on March 2nd despite all the snow. We had about 200 people show up compared to 700 last year. The tours took a little longer because there was MORE stuff to see. Poor Cliff worked early that morning and he pretty much relaxed in the garage as the kids arrived to pet him. See the open house pictures.

The Carsons' Community Day Sale also took place on March 2nd.

Citizen Police Academy report on ABC 7 (posted 3/6/2002)

The Citizen Police Academy piece was broadcast on 2/18/2002 on ABC News at 10pm. It was a very nice piece! Captain Carroll has a copy of the report on video and we hope to make it available to CPAAAS. Stay tuned.

BikeCheck out the pictures from the drawing!

The drawing for the bike was March 17th. The winner of the bike was Rusty Gilley from Hoffman Estates, 2nd place leather jacket went to Jim Tait and the 3rd place winner for the other jacket was Brian Turner from Schaumburg.

From Steven Casstevens:
Thank you all for your help throughout this whole escapade! Our final total profit was $10,350.00. That's $3,450.00 per agency! Nice work!

Original Story:
The Hoffman Estates Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association is raffling a Harley Davidson motorcycle as a fund raiser for the organization. The raffle, which also will benefit CPAAAS as well as the Northwest Corridor Police/Fire Chaplain Association, is being conducted until March 17, 2002 (St. Patrick's Day). The winning ticket will be drawn at the annual St. Patrick's Day celebration in Hoffman Estates. The motorcycle being raffled is a 2001 Harley Davidson Sportster Custom, purchased from Suburban Harley Davidson in Palatine. Only 5,000 tickets will be sold - and are available for $10.00 per ticket or 6 tickets for $50.00. All proceeds will be divided among the three agencies, all of which are 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations.

(Note: The people who cannot purchase raffle tickets are board members of the two CPA Alumni Associations and of the Northwest Corridor Chaplaincy Service.)
