Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association of Schaumburg

Dear Graduates,

Congratulations on successfully completing the Citizens Police Academy!

I know that when my class graduated, we were somewhat lost as to what to do with ourselves on Wednesday evenings. We did not want to lose touch with our Police Department or our classmates. Therefore, a group of alumni from each graduating class got together and formed an alumni association.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association of Schaumburg (CPAAAS). As stated in the enclosed By-Laws, the CPAAAS is an official non-profit association, formed in 1999, whose purpose shall be to assist and support the Village of Schaumburg and the Schaumburg Police Department in its overall mission. CPAAAS will promote awareness through volunteerism. This year CPAAAS received awards for its volunteer efforts from the SchaumburgTownship and the Village of Schaumburg.

We are not all work and no fun. We have guest speakers at our General Meetings who are informative and educational. We also have social gatherings to get to know one another.

Now that you have learned what our Schaumburg Police Department is all about, the CPAAAS gives you the opportunity to become better acquainted with our Community and those who live and work in it. Through CPAAAS, I have met so many wonderful people and done so many different activities, I encourage all Alumni to participate in the CPAAAS.

All graduates of the Citizens Police Academy are members of CPAAAS, but there are paid members and non-paying members. Your paid membership will give you voting privileges on all motions brought before any CPAAAS meetings, along with the CPAAAS Newsletter. Only paid members will continue to receive the newsletter.

If you choose not to become a paying member, you are still welcome to all Alumni functions.

An Alumni Membership Application is enclosed for your convenience. Membership dues consist of a one-time initiation fee of $20.00 and annual dues are at $10.00. if you pay dues after June (May graduates) your dues will be $5.00.
